Leila Okhravi

Hi! My name is Leila (she/her) and I’m the gal behind Leila O Sews! I was born in Berkeley, California and have lived in the East Bay Area my whole life. I started taking sewing classes when I was around 8 years old at sewnow! fashion studio in Lafayette, CA and I have been sewing pretty consistently ever since!
During high school, I began sewing and selling accessories to raise money for causes that I’m passionate about and to share my work with others. It started with scrunchie sets and grew to pouches, patches, and masks for COVID! With all your purchases I was not only able to provide unique, quality pieces, but WE also raised so much for so many organizations centered around fighting social injustices and climate change. Besides selling my work, I also used this forum to share the creations I make for myself. It is always so nice to have an “archive” of my work as a sewist and designer because I can clearly see my style evolution and how far I’ve come in my skills. I also hope that by sharing my creations, I can revive a love for sewing, fashion, and creativity in others!
Currently, I attend UC Davis (goooo Aggies) and I am getting my bachelors in Economics

Even though it changes quite frequently, my current favorite color is chartreuse
